Erie's first Downtown Bike Night of 2010 enjoys stellar May weather! Numbers seemed pretty good but definitely down.
Maybe because it was a Thursday night, maybe because it was early in the season, I don't know. What I do know is it was a beautiful night but hey, I had to work in the morning! All in all, you can't beat a downtown bike night, but... I can't believe business was as brisk for the establishments as they would have liked. The number of bikes was definitely reduced and the number of people was cut in half! Picking a Friday, warmer weather bike night, brings in out of towners as well as a volume of spectators. That's the combination you want for good business. What I will say though, they couldn't have picked a better day for the weather!

COMMENTARY: Downtown Erie's 2010 Bike Nights are going to be great as usual! The number of bikes definitely climb as the seaon heats up, especially leading up to the Roar on the Shore event in July. The forecast always is good, so get out and ride!
